STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A member of the Steamboat Ski Patrol who was seriously injured in a skiing accident has died.
Michael Fosdick, 63, crashed on the upper Rainbow trail at Steamboat Ski Area on Thursday. He died at a Denver hospital Tuesday.
Fosdick had been a courtesy patroller at the ski area since 2007. Courtesy patrollers help with on-mountain safety but do not provide medical care. The Routt County Sheriff’s Office says it’s unclear if a medical issue caused the crash, which no one witnessed.
