With Wes Welker on the free-agent market, the Broncos could use some receiver depth, especially in the slot.
The team visited with two receivers recently in Tre McBride of William & Mary and Michigan State’s Keith Mumphrey. They are both built in the 6-foot, 210-pound range.
McBride is projected to go in the third to fifth rounds of the NFL draft that will run April 30-May 2. In his final three seasons at William & Mary, he averaged 61 catches for 836 yards and 6 touchdowns. He was also a solid kick and punt returner.
Mumphrey is a late-round to premium free-agent projection. He was a three-year starter at flanker for Michigan State, averaging 29 catches.
