KEENESBURG — A female bear that spent nearly two decades as a caged attraction at a Pennsylvania ice cream shop is adjusting to life at a wildlife sanctuary outside Denver.

Wild Animal Sanctuary’s executive director told Friday’s York Daily Record that Little Ricki is roaming the 720-acre grasslands and making friends.

She’s among more than 300 animals at the sanctuary. They include lions, camels and ostriches.

Little Ricki moved there in February after a battle that drew worldwide attention.

Eventually, the owner gave in and let her go.
