1 “Butchey” gets busted. A man reported an attempted scam to Golden police, 911 10th St., on March 31. The suspect, going by the name “Butchey Wadsworth,” offered to mail a $20 check for items posted for sale on Craigslist. When the check arrived in the amount of $1,500 and the suspect asked him to cash it and return the overage, the man recognized the scam. Police took the check as evidence.
2 Trouble at the door. An Evergreen resident reported that his doorbell rang in the evening hours of March 29. He opened the door of his home in the 30000 block of the Golf Club Point and found someone had urinated on his front door and left. There were no suspects.
3 Vandals scramble neighborhood. A resident of the 31000 block of Divot Drive, Evergreen, reported hearing something hit the outside wall of her home April 3. Outside, she discovered broken eggs on her home, her car and her neighbor’s home. A similar crime occured March 30. A crime scene technician cased the scene and extra patrol was added to the area.
4 English humor alarms neighbors. Residents of 600 block of Sixth Street, Golden, reported finding a suspicious note in their mailbox March 28 that referenced cutting the gas line to the house and cutting break lines to a vehicle. They suspected a neighbor with whom they were having problems, but surveillance video revealed a different neighbor left the note. When contacted, the neighbor aplogized, saying the note was meant to be his “English humor” regarding their conflict with the other neighbor. Nobody got it.
