April 27 and May 4: 7 p.m. The Tattered Cover and the Colorado Authors’ League present “The Best of CAL at the Tattered Cover,” a continuing series of consecutive Monday programs featuring the finalists from CAL’s annual writing contest. Three finalists in each category are featured each week and will discuss their books and writing and answer questions from the audience. April 27 is mainstream, genre and young adult fiction, and May 4 is children’s and short fiction adult/children. Winners will be announced at the CAL Awards Banquet on May 8 at the Courtyard Marriott-Denver Cherry Creek.
