The National Weather Service in Boulder is calling for a high of 67 degrees in Denver on Friday ahead of what forecasters say will be a rainy, mild weekend in the city.
The weather service says there is a slight chance of thunderstorms — about 10 percent — in Denver after 2 p.m. on Friday.
“Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop Saturday afternoon ahead of a Pacific storm system,” the weather service said in a bulletin. “Showers will linger Saturday night in some areas as the system drops south.”
Forecasters are calling for a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon on Saturday with a high near 67 degrees.
Rain is expected on Sunday mainly after noon and is expected to last into Monday night.
“Rain and mountain snow will become widespread Sunday as the storm system moves across the southern (Rocky Mountains),” the bulletin said. “Cool conditions and scattered to isolated showers will remain possible behind this system Monday and Tuesday.”
