There are at least four reasons why your first stop on a home-shopping tour today should be a grand opening at master-planned Candelas in Arvada – starting with eye-catching uses of space that go way beyond other new models you’ve toured this spring. “The feedback from early buyers has been wonderful,” says Janet Romano, who will show you Village’s new Valley View neighborhood, with three spacious models from two collections — all with 3-car garages, and with contemporary, imaginative interiors that get away from the boxy look.
Even if you’ve been out to Candelas recently, you’re going to see new surroundings that are further west than the first models builders opened here last year; but not as far west as ones you’ve toured near Highway 93. “These are the best lots that any builder has opened in Candelas,” Romano said – pointing up the contours of the surrounding terrain, where Candelas is already preparing a park directly across from the models. The terrain also works to provide some opportunities for walkout lower levels — a great match to any new home plan (Village has 12 plans available, ranch and 2-story). That’s a mix that will appeal to a broad demographic of buyers; Romano notes that even the ranch plans (she’s already sold four of those) seem to draw younger as well as older buyers, liking the use of space. Both groups also like something else Village provides here: well-manicured front yards that have maintenance included (snow removal, too) for a modest monthly of $89. (Candelas’ amenities involve no HOA dues; they’re wrapped into a metro district). “These families are so busy, they don’t have time to take care of those chores,” Romano said. There are plenty of other places to use that time – including at Candelas’ sustainable rec center (one is open just east of here, and another opens in two years) – along with parks and a trail system that’s planned to span 13 miles, linking to 1,100 acres of open space. The area is also served by some of Jefferson County’s highest rated schools, including Meiklejohn Elementary and Ralston Valley High School – one of the top rated in the state. Meanwhile, Village has a reputation for pioneering new features, and you’ll see great looking master suites that have direct access to the laundry room, options for outdoor living spaces, clever staircase designs on both the 2-stories and ranches, and imaginative uses of color. You’ll also find something that’s rare this spring – two homes that you can move into right away – including a Mayer plan, three bedrooms, 2-½ baths, an extended covered deck and 3-car split garage, close to the park, at $534,142. Don’t bother using Google Map — too new for that to work.
