COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Police have released the name of a 69-year-old woman who was killed when a longtime friend backed his vehicle into her at high speed in a parking lot at an apartment complex in Colorado Springs.
The Gazette reports (http://goo.gl/TbY7k3 ) Judy Garcia, of Colorado Springs, was hit at the Ironwood at Palmer Park complex in the northeastern part of the city Friday afternoon. She died at the scene.
Garcia and Larry Bloom, the 77-year-old man who was driving, had gone to lunch earlier in the day and had been good friends for many years. Bloom, who police say was distraught and cooperative, was cited for careless driving involving death.
