Re: “Clinton charity admits missteps,” April 27 news story.

I happen to think Hillary Clinton is smart (more so than her husband), experienced, moderate politically, and would make an extremely competent president. I also am rooting for a woman’s turn in the office. However, I also know enough about accounting to be bitterly disappointed that the Clinton Foundation — ginned up to produce Clinton family salaries through speaking fees and tax-free charitable donations in the first place — needs to “restate” five years of tax returns. This is no small matter. I’m old enough to remember the entire Clinton family career, and this is déjà vu all over again. They always manage to remind me of the oily Mr. Haney from “Green Acres.” Draft Elizabeth Warren, anyone?
