Getting your player ready...
Wonderland Homes, which began creating its eye-catching homes in Boulder three decades ago, will give you a whole new way of looking at Northern Colorado today: two imaginative series of models wrapped by the nature-oriented amenities of The Lakes at Centerra near Loveland, a bike ride from the Promenade shops at Centerra at I-25 and U.S. 34.
Those models include a strikingly creative Tranquility series of large and luxurious patio-ranches that go way beyond any production-built ranches you’re seeing around Denver: Contemporary elevations with plenty of pop, with elaborate detailing and an included finished space in a daylight walkout basement – every one of them backing to a trail or greenbelt. The size of the very smallest is 3,000 square feet. Priced from the low $500s, those patio ranches are rapidly finding buyers, some from the Denver-Boulder area that perceive value in this site and these designs (Wonderland’s series, including a series of luxury 2-stories, are outselling some lower priced homes in the area). “We’re building something that actually looks custom,” says Wonderland’s Carolyn Delarue. “When people get up here, they love it. They drive by, and then tell us ‘we had to see inside.'” The standard finished basements on the ranches are an eye opener for Denver buyers, says Delarue. “They like the look of this community and its amenities; they see it as up-and-coming.” Part of the attraction is Loveland itself – a less congested feel, with easier access to mountain recreation, and great panoramas of the Rockies, some from sites that Delarue and Christina Tamerlano will show you at The Lakes. At a time when buyers are seeing rapid sales of their older homes, you can also find five homes that can deliver right away – including an Aberdeen family-sized 2-story from Wonderland’s Summit Series, four bedrooms and 4-½ baths plus 3-car garage, on a home site on a greenbelt, facing the lake, at $628,000. Also, a Berkshire ranch in a Prairie-style elevation – 3,400 feet including finished walkout space backing to a greenbelt, at $624,000. Both homes and a limited series of lakefront lots are a short walk from the ‘Lake Club,’ with pool, splash zone and swim lanes designed for kids’ swim teams already open, and where a dock for kayaks will be waiting this summer. “What’s unique is that the amenities are already here,” says Delarue, noting that Wonderland will let you in as their guest as soon as you’re under contract; allowing you to get to know your neighbors and The Lakes’ lifestyle director. You’ll see two sizable lakes – one for non-powered water craft, the other a protected habitat – along with a site for a future K-thru-8 school, and how close this is to the other attractions orbiting Centerra’s 1.5 million feet of stores and 26 restaurants; including Medical Center of the Rockies.
