1 Bad blood. A woman living in an undisclosed block of Oman Road in Castle Rock called police April 22 after she said her drunken mother beat her after an argument. The woman said her mother first struck her face with an open hand and then got on top of her while she was on the ground and punched and slapped her. The mother, who smelled of alcohol, said there was no fight. The caller chose not to pursue charges.

2 Expensive meal. A woman had just dined at Noodles & Company,34 E. Allen St., Castle Rock, on April 12 when she realized she left her purse there. When she returned, the purse, containing $100 cash, credit and debit cards, was gone. The manager said he walked through the restaurant five times and saw no sign of it.

3 Use a pocket. A man living in the 9900 block of Stratford Lane, Highlands Ranch, said his wallet and cellphone were stolen from the center console of his car on April 28 while he was helping his parents with house work. He said his remote locking device malfunctions and his car may have been left unlocked.

4 Slow your roll. A man driving on Jordan Road near Mainstreet in Parker was issued a summons April 18 after he swerved around a truck in traffic and took off its side mirror with his car. The 39-year-old said the truck cut him off.

5 Historic vandal. Police discovered April 17 that the front door of the historic Tallman-Newlin Cabin, near the intersection of Canterberry Road and Callaway Trail in Parker, had been kicked in. Nothing inside the 1860s log cabin appeared to have been disturbed.
