1 Mom beats hubby, breaks daughter’s piggy bank. Lakewood police arrested a woman April 26 for domestic violence after she repeatedly hit and scratched her husband in the 5800 block of West Atlantic Place. The woman was angry that he refused to give her more money for alcohol. She also broke her daughter’s piggy bank and took the money inside.

2 Street fighters. On May 2, officers responded to a fight in the 2600 block of Kendall Street, Edgewater, where they located a group of 10-15 people screaming and yelling in the parking lot. One man was particularly aggressive toward the officers and was arrested. He was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

3 Shoplifter flees with leggings. Police officers April 24 arrested a woman for fleeing after stealing some leggings from Walmart, 7455 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood.

4 Assault and cocaine. On May 3, Edgewater police officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Sheridan Boulevard regarding a loud verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation between a man and woman. The woman was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries to her head and face. A 23-year-old man was arrested for third-degree assault and possession of cocaine.

5 DUI. A man was cited for DUI and careless driving April 24 near the 1300 block of Sheridan Boulevard in Lakewood. He admitted to smoking a joint before getting behind the wheel.

6 Honda stolen. Sometime between 6 p.m. May 2 and 9:30 a.m. May 3, a 1997 Honda Civic was stolen from a parking lot in the 2800 block of Kendall Street in Edgewater.
