Saturday and Sunday. The Newman Center wraps up a season of fine dance presentations with a welcome visit from the Los Angeles company Diavolo. Led by artistic director Jacques Heim, the company has carved out a niche by working in and around geometric set pieces that make a connection between architecture and dance. The pieces don’t have a direct narrative but they get at the relationships between humans and their environment, taking on such themes as “fear, danger, survival, chaos, order, deconstruction, reconstruction, destiny, destination, faith, and love.” according to Heim.
