Friday-Saturday: The eighth annual Colorado Chocolate Festival is refreshingly straightforward — it’s exactly what it says it is. The event, very intentionally scheduled for Mother’s Day weekend, hands out tens of thousands of samples of the sweet stuff amid a tooth-aching array of other competitions, demos and stage entertainment. But let’s cut to the melted center: Who doesn’t want to find out what a “Chocolate and Whiskey Pairing” tastes like? Why is Julie Pech a “Chocolate Therapist”? And, for the love of cake, which one of the 80 booths will be your favorite? We’ll leave you to your research. 4 p.m.-9 p.m. May 8, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. May 9. The Denver Mart, 58th Avenue and I-25 (exit east). $5-$20; kids under 5 free. .
