Denver police arrested a man suspected of attempted burglary after a brief stand-off on Saturday night.
“Some homeowners came home and their house was in the process of being burglarized. They closed the door and called the police,” said Technician Eranda Piyasena, police spokesman.
Police arrived and the suspect refused to leave the home, Piyasena said.
The incident began at about 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of 4th Avenue.
A Hispanic man was taken into custody about one hour later, and 4th Avenue between Broadway and Sherman Street was reopened.
The man was apparently unarmed.
Police have not released additional further information.
