University administrators are not noted for their fortitude in the face of controversy, so it’s not terribly surprising that the University of Northern Colorado has reversed course on its plan to suspend the Mexican-American studies major.

It took just over six weeks for administrators to buckle before protests and reinstate the major, while announcing plans for “growing the program’s enrollment.”

“Several sources have said UNC officials were worried about a protest during graduation.”

So there must be a lot of students already majoring in Mexican-American studies to spark such a controversy, right?

Actually, it’s a grand total of two.
