Interview with Angie Hooper, owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: I was partners with my mom for 25 years at the B & B Cafe in Castle Rock. She was my best friend. When she passed away, I started planning and then we finally decided to buy the building four doors down. My sons all work for me, and my grandson is who I named it after: Richard Tricocci-Loiacono. Tricocci means three generations.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: I would say it’s the family atmosphere and the old-town history. I’ve been in business for 33 years in Castle Rock. I grew up there and I know the feel of Castle Rock.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: The people. It’s working with the people and the families. Especially the kids around the holidays. I get so excited.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Having to move after 31 years at the B & B Cafe. With new media, it’s harder to notify people about changes to the business. So we’re just getting the word out that we’re just down the street.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: We’re not actually an Italian restaurant. We’re a little bit of everything. A little Mexican, a little American and a little Italian. But we’re mainly about family. We’re actually famous for our green chili.
