Denver police have shut down 56th Avenue in both directions at Peoria Street on Thursday morning after a fatal two-vehicle wreck involving a semi-trailer in the northeast part of the city.
The crash was reported at about 8 a.m., police said.
Officials said initial information from the scene was that one person was seriously injured in the wreck. Just after 9 a.m., police announced on Twitter the crash was fatal.
Police said further details on the crash were not immediately available.
