Commerce City police announced Sunday night that they’d made an arrest in connection with a triple shooting Sunday morning.

Police found two men with gunshot wounds in separate nearby locations early Sunday.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance involving a gun at a residence in the 6100 block of E. 60th Place at 4:53 a.m., according to a release.

Officers found a man who had been shot, then located a second adult gunshot victim in the 6100 block of East 60th Avenue. Both victims were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

A third gunshot victim was located at an area hospital.

Sunday night, police issued a release announcing that they had arrested Miguel DeJesus Mendoza, 28, after he was released from Denver Health Medical Center for non-life threatening gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body. He is being held in the Adams County Detention Facility on a charge of attempted first-degree murder.

Police said Zachery Greene, 19, and Artenio Avila, 21, are being treated for gunshot wounds.

Greene was shot once in the head and he is listed in critical condition. Avila is being treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Additional suspects and charges are pending, police said, as the investigation continues.
