Clear Creek County authorities on Sunday arrested a 68-year-old suspect involved in a stabbing Saturday on Old Squaw Pass Road.

Investigators are linking the stabbing to a domestic dispute.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Leland Thomas Kintzele, who faces charges of attempted murder, assault and domestic violence, according to Clear Creek County Undersheriff Bruce Snelling.

The investigators believe Kintzele stabbed his wife, Patricia Kintzele, 52, multiple times using a large kitchen knife and a hatchet at their home, Snelling said.

Kintzele then stabbed himself, sheriff’s officials said.

His wife was evacuated by helicopter and remained in the hospital Sunday night.
