A Hooters restaurant that failed to get city council approval for a liquor license in Lone Tree earlier this month succeeded Tuesday with a unanimous yes vote.
The restaurant, famous for chicken wings and scantily clad waitresses, had run into resistance at the city council’s May 5 meeting. Several residents objected to the restaurant chain as less than family-friendly while a council member cited liquor license violations levied against the restaurant as a concern.
The routine motion to give Hooters a license failed to get a second.
But on Tuesday, the city council acting as the city’s liquor authority, approved the license for Hooters.
Lone Tree’s first Hooters will operate on County Line Road, where a TGI Fridays closed last year.
