After three straight losses in the semifinals, Rye captured the Class 2A baseball crown on Saturday in Pueblo.

The Thunderbolts needed two come-from-behind victories — in the semifinals, they rallied to beat Hotchkiss 9-8, then took down defending state champion Resurrection Christian 12-10.

Rye finished with a 25-0 mark.

Also the state champion in 2011, Rye trailed 6-0 in the semis and 9-4 in the final.

Resurrection Christian, which beat Burlington 4-0 in the semis, ended 18-5. It also won the title in 2012.
