The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra has been selected to participate in the inaugural SHIFT Festival scheduled in 2017 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
The event, on March 27-April 2, 2017, is fully titled “SHIFT: A Festival of American Orchestras.”
According to the American Symphony Orchestra League, it is designed to celebrate orchestras of various sizes that exemplify forward-thinking ideals of community involvement and artistic vision.
The other groups included in the festival will be the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony and the Brooklyn-based chamber orchestra The Knights.
