Prosecutors in Adams County have charged a man with first-degree murder in the death of a 44-year-old Aurora woman found slain in her home Tuesday.
Christopher Michael Winters, 44, was charged Monday in the death of Coresa Breault.
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said Breault was found dead at her home at 1769 Beeler St. in Aurora.
Winters is next due in court on Aug. 14 for a preliminary hearing.
Winters is being held at the county’s jail without bond on suspicion of violating the conditions of his parole and the murder charge, jail records show. He was arrested Saturday.
Arrest documents in the case have been sealed.
Police in Aurora on Monday did not immediately have information on the killing to release.
In 2008, Winter pleaded guilty to witness intimidation in El Paso County, according to court records. Colorado Bureau of Investigation records show Winters has a criminal history in the state dating back to 2004 and includes arrests on charges of domestic violence, assault and drug violations.
