COLORADO SPRINGS — Air Force Academy cadet Alexandre Quiros and his mother, Ksenia, killed themselves, the El Paso County coroner’s office announced Wednesday.
Alexandre died April 2 after sustaining 28 incisions and stab wounds, his autopsy report says. The Cheyenne Mountain High School graduate was a 21-year-old senior at the academy.
Dr. Daniel Lingamfelter cited the cadet’s “history of recent personal stressors” in ruling the death a suicide, noting that the multiple wounds “resulted in massive blood loss and his subsequent death.”
Alexandre’s mother was 45 when she disappeared April 15. Ksenia’s body was found in Stratton Open Space three days later.
