Webroot’s SecurityAnywhere software takes care of computers.
While a big chunk of business is still about selling antivirus software to consumers, Webroot has delved into the business market and reports double-digit growth in its most recent quarter.
The Broomfield company on Tuesday reported strong third-quarter sales growth in the business market, including other security companies such as in Australia, which is using Webroot’s technology to “increase the security of their own products,” the company said.
The company, which is not publicly traded, has offered limited insight into its growth for the past few years. At the end of last fiscal year, ended June 2014, the company reported its software protected 7.5 million consumer devices. According to its financial reports, the company has added another 2.95 million home users.
But sales to small and medium businesses have had double-digit growth. In June 2014, its software protected more than 1 million “owned by its small-to-medium business customers.
The company went on to post and then to small and medium-sized business.
Its most recent quarter, ended March 31, saw third-quarter sales to SMBs jump 40 percent from a year ago. It added 260,000 more business end users.
Business customers security updates without bogging down user devices or the network, according to the company.
Webroot’s SecureAnywhere product for businesses “also increases operating margins by significantly reducing the complexities and inefficiencies associated with managing a traditional security solution,” said David Bennett, Webroot’s vice president of worldwide consumer and SMB sales.
The company employs 412 globally, including 213 in Broomfield.
