I recently got home from a short vacation. The Denver Parking Violations Bureau greeted my arrival with a ticket on my car for an expired license plate. Sure enough, the old “15” sticker was still on the rear plate, and the “16” sticker was in my glove box with the new registration.
I called the PVB directly. A courteous young man explained my appeal options thoroughly. I chose one, and pleaded the senior-moment defense. I made a status call a week later, with assistance from the city’s 311 Help Center. A young lady was every bit as professional. A decision had already been mailed to me, but she gave me the highlights. The compromise offer was very fair. I lauded her and her department lavishly for their helpful service. She hesitated and said, “Sir, we don’t often hear this sort of thing at the Parking Violations Bureau.”
PVB people, 311 people, and all our Denver public servants matter to our great community. Praise them deservedly when they perform.
