On Saturday, a rain storm passed through the city flooding parts of Colfax near Broadway and halting the Capitol Hill’s Peoples Fair in Civic Center Park. (Brent Lewis, The Denver Post)
We have had a good rain shower, sometimes two, practically every day recently. Some streams are flooding. I read of significant rainfall from Fort Collins to Coors Field to Castle Rock to Colorado Springs. Every day I check the weather section in The Post to see how much rain has fallen. Recent 24-hour totals are none, none, trace, 0.01 inches — basically nil.
Why is the “official” precipitation for Denver recorded halfway to Kansas? There must be more representative reliable recording stations within the city that would indicate what most of the people who actually live here are experiencing.
I would like to see The Post publish a “city” weather reading in addition to the “official” airport version. It would be nice to have a reality check. The official weather station does not represent Denver.
