Re: “Hickenlooper right to veto red-light camera ban,” June 9 letter to the editor.
The legislature approved a bill to ban/limit the use of red-light cameras and photo radar. This was the correct thing to do. Gov. John Hickenlooper’s veto was the wrong thing. Supporters of red-light cameras suggest public safety issues but offer no further supporting facts. However, the prolific revenue realized from their use is well documented. Thus, the justification for their use.
As citizens we are under constant surveillance by the NSA, satellites, security cameras, police on traffic duty or in unmarked cars, and so on. Everywhere one goes, one is being observed or heard. Enough! Get rid of these cameras. I am tired of being spied upon.
