1 Drinking, guns and couples counseling. A woman told police she grabbed a gun so her husband would quit belittling her after an all-night bout of heavy drinking and arguing May 22 in the 13000 block of West 65th Avenue, Arvada. Her husband said she’d never shoot him, and the argument was over whether to attend couples counseling that day.

2 Parolee attacks police. A man walking along Interstate 70 near Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada was arrested May 20 after attacking two police officers. He had repeatedly refused directions to get off the highway, cursed out the officers who offered to drive behind him with emergency lights on and littered by tossing an officer’s business card on the ground. He then attacked the officers; the man said he was walking to meet a parole officer. He was arrested instead.

3 Woman attacked, arrested. A woman walking to a bus stop May 27 in the 8200 block of Jay Court said an unknown man ran up, grabbed her shoulders and punched her twice in the face. The man was not located, and the woman was arrested for outstanding warrants.

4 Debit card thief busted. Police arrested a man May 25 near Carr Street and West 52nd Place in Arvada for two outstanding warrants and additional charges for possessing a stolen debit card and drug paraphernalia.

5 Meth, marijuana found. Police arrested the driver of a Nissan Sentra on May 21 near the 6400 block of Sheridan Boulevard in Arvada on suspicion of DUI. The man failed roadside testing and police found 3 ounces of marijuana and almost a gram of methamphetamine in his car.
