BOULDER — The scenic Gold Lake Ranch outside Ward, home to one of the largest natural lakes in Boulder County, is on the market for $11.5 million.

Frequented in the 1800s as a summer home by the Arapaho tribe and, later, by ambitious gold miners, the ranch eventually proved to be a haven for yoga aficionados and anyone else seeking solace and quiet.

Most recently it has operated as a therapeutic center, known as Insight Intensive, for troubled young men. The center is preparing to cease operations, according to its website. Center officials did not return requests for comment.

Longtime Boulder Realtor Tom Kahn, who once owned the 91-acre retreat, is listing the property.
