
1 Police seek armed robber. On June 6, officers responded to King Soopers, 1725 Sheridan Blvd., Edgewater, regarding an armed robbery in progress. The suspect, who reportedly was armed with a handgun, managed to escape the perimeter; however, a .40 caliber loaded semi-automatic handgun and a bag of money taken from the supermarket were discovered near a Dumpster in the alley behind the store. The case is under investigation.
2 Bad day at park. A man and woman were arrested May 27 at Mountair Park, 5620 W. 14th Ave., Lakewood, after a physical domestic dispute. The woman was arrested for kicking the man in the nose after he called her a “whore” and a “crazy woman.” The man was arrested for violating a protection order
3 Stabbing at hardware store. On June 6, Edgewater police officers responded to a felony menacing and stabbing in the area of Ace Hardware, 1719 Sheridan Blvd. A male suspect pulled a knife on a man who confronted the suspect as he was stealing his bicycle. The owner of the bike tackled the suspect and an individual who ran to assist the owner of the bike was stabbed, sustaining a minor laceration. The suspect was arrested.
4 Shoplifting duo. Two women were arrested for shoplifting May 28 at Walmart, 7455 W. Colfax Ave. The duo was seen attempting to steal a backpack and clothing items. One had a drug-related warrant.
5 Needle. A woman was arrested May 28 after she was found with a syringe containing a small amount of meth in the 5800 block of West Sixth Avenue, Lakewood.
