Friday-Sunday: Named after the treasure trove of Ice Age fossils found near Snowmass in 2010, the Snowmass Mammoth Fest turns a sleepy, upscale ski resort into a good-vibes music, beer-and-food party each June. This year’s “Wheels of Soul” theme is borne out with returning headliners Tedeschi Trucks Band and the inimitable Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, with Doyle Bramhall II, Greensky Bluegrass, the Cave Singers and many more. The village also hosts a world-class chili cook-off featuring nearly two-dozen competitive red and green chile cooks vying for prizes, plus 70 offerings from more than 25 craft brewers. The 12th annual event takes place June 12-14 in Snowmass Village and Snowmass Town Park. Tickets are $55-$275. June 12 events are free. .
