AURORA — Day 3 of the 2015 MLB Draft predictably produced the most number of Coloradans.

All told, 19 former local schoolboys were selected, 14 on Wednesday, nine who recently graduated.

They were topped on Wednesday by Monarch’s Logan Soole, who was chosen by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 23rd Round.

The Rockies were active with locals, particularly late. Colorado took Legacy catcher Wyatt Cross, Fairview pitcher Ryan Madden, Mountain Vista infielder Marc Mumper and Regis Jesuit pitcher Brent Schwarz. The Rockies also took Steven Leonard, who graduated from Palmer Ridge in 2011 and recently played for Campbell University.

Another former schoolboy, Jordan Serena, who prepped at Chaparral, was chosen by the L.A. Angels after playing for the Columbia Lions. Leonard and Serena were two of four players chosen from 2011 Class. Douglas County’s Tyler Servais (Princeton) and Ralston Valley’s Ben Yokley (Air Force) were the others.
