All boat ramps at Chatfield State Park closed Sunday to the launching of trailered vessels because of high water.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife says hand-launched vessels will still be allowed, including canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats.
“The park, including the campground, remains open at this time,” CPW said in a Monday news release. “Access to the campground is now only available from North Roxborough Park Road entrance.”
Facilities affected and closed at the park because of high water include:
— all boat ramps
— the south end of Main Park Road
— the marina parking lot
— the gravel ponds parking area
— the swim beach and adjacent parking areas
— the Jamison Picnic Area
— the Catfish Picnic Area
— King Fisher
— Eagle Cove
— Plum Creek Picnic Area (including Roxborough Cove)
“Restroom facilities and parking lots in these areas are closed,” the release said. “Parking space and picnic locations are limited.”
CPW did not say when the closed areas would reopen and the launching of trailered vessels would be allowed.
