• “There was this guy [in the tents] who had his alarm set for 4:30 [a.m.] and it didn’t wake him up. It went off and off and off.”
• “You think you’re doing well in life. You have a good job, and then, you do this ride.”
• “Where’s the start?”
• “Usually I take all those pills at night, but one’s a diuretic and if I take that I gotta get up.”
• “If you see me lying flat on the side of the road just pick me up, okay?”
• “If you’re suffering now then you’re really going to be suffering later.”
• “Bottom line is: Don’t die.”
