A man and woman have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a earlier this month.
Emiliano Damacio Urioste, 30, and Teresa Dean, 28, have been charged in the beating death of 31-year-old Abigail Cozad, according to the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.
Cozad’s body was found June 1 at the Primrose Motel, 5450 Federal Blvd. Cozad had gone to the motel May 31 with Urioste and Dean, prosecutors said.
The defendants have been charged with one count of first-degree murder after deliberation, one count of first-degree murder and one count of robbery, all felonies.
The pair was advised of charges Thursday in Adams County District Court. A preliminary hearing for Urioste is scheduled Sept. 4, and Dean’s preliminary hearing is scheduled Sept. 18.
Both are being held without bond.
