Rockies fans Peggy and Mark LoRusso, who are blind, listen to their radio during a game at Coors Field on June 2. The couple, who have been to hundreds of Rockies games over the years, are often escorted by season ticket holder Dan Sauvageau (not pictured). (Brent Lewis, The Denver Post)
Re: “Two blind Rockies fans still love a game they can’t see,” June 14 news story (part of “Nine innings” series).
Thank you for printing such an uplifting article on the front page of the Sunday Denver Post. The LoRusso and Sauvageau story of devotion to friendship and baseball is entirely heartwarming. Mark and Peggy LoRusso’s determination to live life to the fullest is inspiring.
When the news can seem overwhelmingly negative much of the time, itap a joy to be reminded that there is much good in our world if we only open our hearts to it.
