Micah Roberts, gaming columnist for the Sporting News and former Las Vegas sports book director, said the Cleveland Cavaliers are the odds-on favorite to be the NBA champion next year.

The Westgate Las Vegas Superbook odds were released on Thursday and listedthe Cavaliers as the 9-4 favorites to win the championship while the Golden State Warriors were tied for second with 5-1 odds.

“You just have to split up the conferences. The probability of the Cavs going 12 – 2 in the Eastern Conference and making the Finals is so much greater than the Warriors going through that gauntlet,” Roberts said, mentioning powerhouses like the Houston Rockets,Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the San Antonio Spurs.
