Gas prices Denver inched up again this past week to $2.62 per gallon, but they remain below the national average, officials for fuel price website GasBuddy reported Monday.
Denver metro fuel prices increased 1.8 cents per gallon, GasBuddy reported. Nationally, average prices fell by 1.1 cents to $2.80.
“At long last the national average for a gallon of gasoline has seen a decline in the last week, helped by relief in the Great Lakes, where refinery issues seem to be behind us as several have restarted over the last week,” Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst, said in a statement. “Unfortunately, now Oregon and Washington seem to be seeing price increases as supply has become tighter.”
Oregon and Washington’s average prices were $3.13 per gallon and $3.17 per gallon, respectively.
Fuel costs are far tamer than what Denver and state saw last summer.
In the metro Denver region, prices are down 91.5 cents. Average prices across the state are down 91.7 cents, according to GasBuddy.
Nationally, prices are down 89.6 cents.
