in Wheat Ridge is now open, after being welcomed to the neighborhood by a line of customers wrapping around the front of the building and into the adjacent residential street.
The 27,058-square foot store is the second outpost for the specialty grocer in Jefferson County and its 27th overall in Colorado, according to the . Another Sprouts is scheduled to open in August in Denver at 197 E. Mississippi Ave.
The Wheat Ridge store, which officially opened at 7 a.m. Wednesday, anchors the . Kipling Ridge, a 6.3-acre site on the southwest corner of 38th and Kipling, will also include a 64-unit MorningStar Senior Living assisted living and memory care facility, now under construction; and a future 4,500- to 6,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail shop. A new Starbucks is also open in a 2,100-square-foot building with a drive-through.
The developer is Confluent Development, which received to bring the redevelopment project to fruition.
“Kipling Ridge is a textbook example of how a public/private partnership can create and transform a blighted corner into viable mixed-use project that the community of Wheat Ridge can be proud of into the future,” Confluent president Greg Moran said in a news release.
