A 45-year-old Thornton man at their home earlier this month was formally charged Tuesday with first-degree murder.
Authorities say Stefan Stoian shot his 45-year-old wife, , in the head on the 7500 block of East 121st Place on June 3.

Stoian is due back in court on Aug. 14 for a preliminary hearing, Adams County prosecutors say.
