Adams County sheriff’s deputies have arrested several possible suspects after several shots were fired from a stolen vehicle and a chase ensued early Saturday.

The names of the suspects have not been released.

An Adams County deputy heard several gunshots at around 2:30 a.m. in the area of 88th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, said Sgt. Aaron Pataluna, sheriff’s spokesman.

The deputy quickly spotted a suspect car and gave chase as the vehicle fled eastbound on 88th Avenue, Pataluna said. The lights of the suspect’s car were turned off during the chase.

Commerce City police rapidly deployed “stop sticks” on the road and the device disabled the stolen car, which came to a stop, Pataluna said.

“They bailed out of the car,” he said, referring to several suspects.

Law enforcement agents set up a perimeter and arrested several suspects, Pataluna said.

The suspects were questioned about the incident. No charges have been filed.

Investigators are determining whether the original shots that were fired were aimed at the deputy, Pataluna said.
