A bicyclist rides along the Mary Carter Trail in Littleton. (Anya Semenoff, Denver Post file)

Re: “A scourge of dangerous bicyclists on the South Platte River Trail,” June 20 letter to the editor.

“On your right” and “On your left” are two phrases 9 out of 10 cyclists in Denver fail to provide to pedestrians as an advance warning while on the bike trails. The cyclists whiz by you so fast and sneak up on you without any warning.

How about giving us pedestrians with dogs a break?

If you know a cyclist, please give them this request. If you are a cyclist, itap in the best interest of everyone’s safety if you provide this verbal warning.

Ed Kraynak, Denver
