Bobby Lashley’s nicknamed “The Dominator” for a reason. He reaffirmed why he earned that moniker Friday night.
The heavyweight from Parker completely dominated Dan Charles in their heavyweight MMA fight, winning by technical knockout 4:14 into the second round at Bellator 138 in St. Louis.
Lashley controlled the match early and often, utilizing his amateur wrestling background by taking Charles down with a double-leg takedown 20 seconds into the bout.

Charles never got into rhythm and spent most of the time in a defensive mode on the wrong side of a belly-to-back hold.
Charles mounted some offense early in the second round when he was going for an armbar. Unfortunately for him, Lashley simply overpowered the smaller Charles, picked him up and — in a move reminiscent of his pro wrestling side — slammed him into the ground ().
Lashley (13-2), who wants to ultimately have a title shot, said the match puts him one step closer at getting one.
“It’s just to keep moving forward, man,” Lashley said in an in-ring interview on Spike after the match. “The heavyweight division is wide open.”
In an interview with The Denver Post earlier in June, Bellator president Scott Coker said that if Lashley won, “I’m not going to commit that he would get a title shot, but he would be right up there.”
