The public comment period for a has been extended 30 days.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Tuesday interested people can make a comment about the Northern Integrated Supply Project through Sept. 3. The corps originally set the public comment period for 45 days.
The corps said it had fielded “a number of requests to extend the comment period.” At least one request for an extension came from U.S. Rep. Jared Polis, whose district includes Fort Collins.
Two public hearings — one in Fort Collins and the other in Greeley — are also scheduled to discuss the project in late July.
that the Poudre River be diverted during high-flow periods to fill Glade Reservoir, northwest of Fort Collins, and Galeton Reservoir, east of Ault. Glade would have a capacity of 170,000 acre-feet of water; Galeton would hold 45,600 acre-feet.
