Kendrick-Lamar-alright-w

Do not be surprised if Kendrick Lamar sets his eyes on Hollywood as his next foray in the entertainment business. In his new video for “Alright,” Lamar stretches his acting chops and also takes on some pretty incredible stunts.

The Colin Tilley-directed video for “Alright” is shot in a monochromatic style that paints a gritty picture of the West Coast. From Lamar’s powerful new album, “To Pimp a Butterfly”, the video is bookended by two spoken word sections. Between those, Lamar cruses around in a dilapidated car, floats across the L.A. skyline and evokes images of police violence.

We now get where the imagery for Lamar’s came from on Sunday.
