A developer is moving forward with plans to develop Applewood Golf Course and its surrounding land.

An application to rezone the property to allow 400 homes, plus parks and open space, at West 32nd Avenue and Eldridge Street in unincorporated Jefferson County near Golden was submitted to the county Tuesday.

“The proposed vision for the property is to deliver a high-quality, low-density active adult residential neighborhood with a diversity of single-family residential lot sizes, interspersed with open space, trails and landscaped buffers,” said Stacey Weaks, principal of Norris Design, in a letter last week to Jefferson County planner Alan Tiefenbach.

Norris Design is the authorized representative on the application. Coors Brewing Co. is named as the property owner, and Applewood West Holdings is listed as the developer.
