
Denver Post Editor Greg Moore sits down and interviews Washington Post journalist Wil Haywood. The renowned writer has also written novels, including “In Black and White: The Life of Sammy Davis Jr.” and “Sweet Thunder: The Life and Times of Sugar Ray Robinson.”
His last novel was a New York best seller, “The Butler: A Witness to History.” The life story of a White House butler,Eugene Allen, was turned into a movie in 2013. Haywood shares some of his experience as an associate producer on the film.
His next big project is a novel on Thurgood Marshall, the first African American justice on the United States Supreme Court. He talks about bringing a new intriguing angle to the historic moment when Marshall was nominated by President Lydon Johnson during racial segregation.
