1 Tree climb ruins man’s day. Fed up with spectators’ taunts as he attempted to climb a tree June 21 near Webster Street and West 57th Avenue in Arvada, a man fell as he climbed down to confront his tormentors. He was punched twice in the face and then arrested for drinking in violation of a protection order.

2 Likely excuse. A man parked at King Soopers, 8055 Sheridan Blvd., Arvada, on June 19 left his dog in his vehicle with the windows up in 90-degree weather for 30 minutes. He pointed to a capped water bottle and said the dog could drink from that. He was cited for animal cruelty.

3 Unwanted guest has pocket of meth. A man under a no-contact order arrived at the home of his estranged wife June 20 in the 5900 block of Cole Way in Arvada. After causing a disturbance, police were called and found meth in his pocket.

4 Lemon theft. An unregistered 1992 red Honda Accord was reported stolen June 18 in the 5300 block of Carr Street in Arvada. The owner said the car had faded paint, rust near the gas tank and window tint that had bubbled.

5 Butt-dial ends in violence. A woman texted back an ex-boyfriend who had accidentally “butt-dialed” her June 18 in the 5300 block of Allison Street in Arvada. The man arrived a short time later and bashed down her screen door. He then pinned her down and began pummeling her. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

6 Double whammy. A man was arrested for domestic violence June 21 in the 10700 block of West 63rd Place in Arvada. He faced an additional charge of drunken driving.
